Carpentry Apprentice Requirements

We are currently constructing 166 apartments at the above project for our client and are seeking apprentice Carpenter to work with the carpenter contractor during his works package.

The carpenter will be required to have some experience but if not we also can offer position with those with little experience. It is expected that the apprentice has knowledge of various carpentry techniques. The Carpenter will be expected to carry out works such as, installation of doors, door frames, skirtings, architraves and dado rails in addition to this they also install joinery units for – kitchens, wardrobes and vanity units. Other duties will include cutting, and measuring materials according to required lengths.

The apprentice must also note that on occasion they will be asked to clear their workspace as it is expected that the workplace will be clean and tidy at all times.

The apprentice will also be required to assist the team in loading out the various floors with goods etc ahead of the works commencing.

A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret drawings

• Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.

• Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.

• Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Enrolment on apprenticeship or enrolment in an active apprentice training programme minimum.

• Additional certification may be required – such as CSCS card to work on site.

• Good communication skills.

• Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.

• Knowledge of mathematics.
