Ferry Lane - update on access for cyclists and pedestrians

Update from Haringey Council

Haringey Council met with Haringey Cycling Campaign and TfL on 24 November 2022 to discuss the safety of cyclists and pedestrians during the delivery of the Ferry Island scheme works.

The appointed contractor, Midgard, has now commenced its initial works and has been liaising closely with the council to put in place a number of measures, including Traffic Marshalls at site gates, to ensure the safety of cyclists while HGVs are entering and leaving the site. Crocodile gates located at strategic points will help manage the flow of cyclists while construction vehicles are operating. Both Station Road and Ferry Lane will be kept open for cyclists to use and on Ferry Lane cyclists will be able to use the existing shared cyclist / pedestrian footway.

RB 2000 safety barriers will be in place on Ferry Lane to ensure the safety of cyclists while the construction works are being delivered. Two signposts are to be removed from Ferry Lane footway outside of the Midgard site in order for the barriers to be put in place without any gaps.
