News on Projects underway

Fencing panels have now been installed on top of the barriers on Ashley Road and Burdock Road. The safety barriers were installed last year by one of the Ashley Road construction contractors, Formation Design, as a means of helping to ensure the safety of students and their parents entering and leaving the Harris Academy and in response to large volumes of traffic operating on Ashley Road and Burdock Road. Construction HGVs, other traffic as well as refuse trucks are continuing to operate on these roads on a regular basis.

Concerns have recently been raised regarding the safety of the barriers, so the fencing panels have been installed as an additional safety measure and to deter people from jumping over the barriers.

The Harris Academy are supportive of the barriers. Berkeley Square Developments who are bringing forward the Berol Yard and Ashley Gardens Schemes has also attended the school on a number of occasions to keep students informed about the construction work going and how to stay safe.
